Works with: Children, adolescents & adults

Sandra is committed to the wellbeing of children, adolescents, and adults, working with younger and older alike to understand diverse social-emotional, behavioural and neurological difficulties that arise at different stages of life.  Sandra creates a warm and respectful therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to talk through challenges without judgement, and are supported to develop resilience, learn and apply practical solutions, and improve the quality of their relationships with others and themselves. Mental health areas of interest include mood disruption (e.g., depression, irritability, mood shifts),  anxiety (e.g., generalised, obsessive-compulsive, phobias, & panic), sleep disruption, substance misuse and dependence (childhood and adulthood), stressful life experiences and trauma (adjustment, adulthood and childhood sexual abuse, posttraumatic stress). Sandra applies evidenced models and approaches in treatment to invite emotional expression, link early experiences with life patterns and relationship challenges, and work toward increased personal insight. Sandra engaged in educative and upskilling techniques to facilitate relaxation, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and create space for new ways of thinking, being and doing in line with desired goals and outcomes. Sandra has an interest in neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan, and as a certified autism assessor, administers autism assessments for children, adolescents and adults, and completes cognitive assessments (e.g., for learning differences such as giftedness, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), and ADHD screening for children and adolescents.
