Telehealth Psychology
Accessible Online Therapy
Telehealth counselling at Helios Psychology is delivered via phone or video call by one of our registered or clinical psychologists. These online sessions provide evidence-based psychological care to people across Australia, not just those who can visit our Manning and East Fremantle clinics.
We offer Telehealth appointments to children as young as 6 years old, where appropriate. Additionally, some of our psychologists offer a flexible hybrid approach to counselling sessions, allowing you to choose between Telehealth and in-person sessions throughout your journey with us.
Please note: online therapy may not be suitable for all individuals. This can include individuals with acute psychiatric presentations or severe self-harm risk requiring in-person clinical support. Telehealth availability is at the psychologist’s discretion. If you are unsure, contact us, and we will advise.
Telehealth is Suitable for:
- Rural and remote Australians
- Individuals with mobility challenges
- Those who want to continue care after relocating
- Clients who prefer the comfort of home
- People with busy schedules or frequent travel
- Individuals working through trauma or grief
- Individuals managing anxiety, depression, and stress
Our Process for Telehealth Appointments
Similar to our in-person appointments, please get in touch with our admin team and indicate that you are after a Telehealth counselling session. Please note that psychologists’ availability varies; some offer Telehealth flexibly throughout your care, while others offer it on an as-needed basis (e.g., for illness or when unable to attend in person).
Our admin team will contact you within 24-48 hours and can advise you when booking your appointment with a suitable psychologist.
On the day of the appointment, make sure you find a quiet place with your phone or laptop nearby. The psychologist will call you (or let you know the online room if it’s a video call), and you begin your session, which usually lasts about 50-60 minutes, similar to a face-to-face appointment.
If you are a current client, you can discuss the suitability of Telehealth with your psychologist and request a Telehealth appointment.
