Joe is a registered psychologist with 20 years of experience working in the community services sector as well as within various maximum security prisons in Western Australia. He has experience working in diverse Forensic areas such as family violence, drug rehabilitation, emotional management and sexual offending. Typically, Joe works from a strength-based perspective which focuses on cultivating an individual’s own resilience and inner strength as a means of achieving wellness. In an increasingly secular world, Joe is comfortable and proficient at working within an individual’s spiritual, religious or cultural belief system. He has a professional interest in the intersection between Psychology and Spirituality and is inspired by the transpersonal movement. During the counselling process, Joe adopts a values-based approach and utilises Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy and Mindfulness/Somatic-based Therapies.
